Singapore’s hardware is developing impressively, yet its software has not quite caught up alongside. This was an observation & statement by a visitor and we couldn’t help but agree and feel a sense of helplessness.

Jolting ourselves up, we figured the way to preserve or at least shine a spotlight on one specific area would mean doing our part.
Vanishing trades here includes the changing faces that have high cultural and heritage value.

Early Singaporeans took pride in the achievements of the various trades, as well as the environments that have contributed to our shared history and identity. Once lost, however, the culture, skills and memories of the older generation may never be recovered again.

This walk uncovers what remains of the changing faces of this area and present them in a form that appeals to the present. There is an ever-growing divide and gap between past, present and future in our everyday conversations; THIS is a great opportunity to plug into a crucial conversation that will not live past the latest generation.
